With the Energy and Resources market gaining momentum locally, there is a gap emerging between demand for junior front-end lawyers in this sector and those that have had the opportunity to gain significant exposure to date.
The upshot of this is two-fold;
Those that have had this experience are able to access premium firms using Perth as the centre of E&R law, globally. The combination of a favourable time-zone, lower cost centre and resources pedigree that Perth offers will allow you to deliver on some of the more complex front-end work across the APAC, African and Middle-Eastern regions.
The lack of supply is also creating opportunity for ambitious corporate lawyers with a genuine interest in specialising in this lucrative sector, to make a move across. This is the ideal time to be doing to ‘ride the wave’ through the recovery to progress quickly.
If either of the above applies and you bring 2+ years’ post-admission experience in E&R or Corporate Law and a strong academic pedigree, I’d welcome a discussion.
